I made a Prezi presentation about the Civil War. Check it out!

  1. I liked how you kept the words on the Prezi short and sweet! I also enjoyed the pictures! Consider adding a link to Brain Pop to do an interactive assignment with the students regarding the civil war as a review! https://www.brainpop.com/socialstudies/freemovies/civilwar/

    1. Thank you! I didn't want to bore the students with lots of words in my Prezi, so instead I planned to explain each thing vocally while presenting. Thanks for the tip! That would be a great thing to add to keep them engaged during the lesson.

    1. I wish I had know about that last night when I was making my prezi! I felt like I wanted more options but did not know how to find them. I will definitely have to use this next time!

    2. Awesome! Thanks for the link, I'll definitely use it for my next presentation! For the design I only chose a color scheme but I didn't even think about using a template.

  3. I really like you Prezi! I also did a prezi for my ILP. I had never done one before, and last night when I was trying to figure out the formatting, I looked at yours for help. I really liked the way you had your prezi snaking around in a timeline. It was definitely an effective lay out. Its a great review tool! Do you like using prezi to make more of a reveiw tool like this or for your actual lesson more?

    1. I'm glad that you could use my Prezi as a reference! I knew that posting it early would come in handy. I plan on explaining each thing verbally to the class, so it could be used as a lesson! I would obviously use supplemental materials like note pages to more thoroughly teach the lesson. Personally I find that review tools that are in a question form work better! If I were to create a review for this prezi lesson I would either have practice questions or a handout that has a simple timeline that the students can take notes on.

  4. Your prezi was well done. It was nice that you didn't crowd your prsenatation with a ton of information. It was very to the point, which I think your audience will respond better to. Plus it was well balanced between pictures and information. I think using chronological order is always a really good tactic to present information in. The only suggestion I would have is that maybe there could have been something more you did with the background instead of the plan color or maybe started with a video to give the audience overall background information before presenting your information. Overall you did a great job!
